Planning meals for a tour group, motorcoach trip, retreat, reunion or other large group visiting Dahlonega and the North Georgia mountains?

The Hideaway Dining Room at Forrest Hills Resort offers prearranged buffet-style group dining for both overnight groups and groups simply stopping by for a meal.

Your group does not have to be staying at Forrest Hills Resort to dine with us.

With reserved group seating, meals prepared for your arrival and breakfast, lunch and dinner options available by advance arrangement, the Hideaway makes it easy to feed everyone together without the wait and complications of ordering individually from a restaurant menu.

Tour Bus & Motorcoach Group Dining

Visiting Dahlonega, Georgia wine country or the North Georgia mountains by motorcoach?

Forrest Hills Resort welcomes tour buses and motorcoach groups for prearranged meals at the Hideaway Dining Room.

Instead of waiting for dozens of individual orders to be prepared, your group can arrive at an established time with a buffet prepared and ready for your group.

It's an easy dining stop to incorporate into a North Georgia group itinerary.

Group dining includes:

  • Prearranged buffet menu

  • Reserved tables so your group can sit together

  • Established arrival and meal time

  • Breakfast, lunch or dinner options

  • Local wines and beer available

  • Convenient motorcoach group dining at Forrest Hills Resort

Overnight accommodations are not required.

Contact our group coordinator in advance to arrange your group's meal.

Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Available Daily

With advance group notice, the Hideaway can provide:

  • Breakfast

  • Lunch

  • Dinner

Meal times are established in advance with your Forrest Hills Resort group coordinator.

Because we may be serving more than one group at a time—or, in some cases, opening the dining room specifically for your group—we ask that everyone arrive together at the scheduled meal time.

Arriving on time also helps us keep buffet items hot, fresh and at their best.

Mountain Man Breakfast Buffet

Group breakfasts typically feature our hearty Mountain Man Breakfast Buffet, a generous start to the day before meetings, activities or exploring the North Georgia mountains.

Breakfast typically includes:

  • Eggs

  • Biscuits

  • Gravy

  • Potatoes

  • Grits

  • Sausage, bacon or ham

  • Pancakes

  • Fresh fruit

  • Yogurt

  • Juice

  • Coffee

Menu selections may vary.

Group Lunch Buffets

Groups may choose from our group lunch buffet menu in advance.

If more than one group is dining at the same meal period, all groups are served the same buffet menu for that meal. This helps us keep service smooth and ensures that food remains fresh and readily available for everyone.

Your group coordinator can help you select the best lunch option for your schedule and group.

Group Dinner Buffets

Dinner is also served buffet style and features the menu of the day, with entrées, side dishes and accompaniments selected for group service.

Your group coordinator will provide available meal options and help coordinate dining times with the rest of your retreat or group itinerary.

Local wines and beer are available for purchase with lunch and dinner.

Dining Together

The Hideaway is generally a shared dining room, rather than a private dining space.

While we typically do not offer exclusive use of the dining room for individual groups, tables are reserved so your group can sit together.

Depending on occupancy, you may be dining alongside another group staying at Forrest Hills Resort. At other times, your group may be the only group scheduled in the dining room.

Either way, seating and meal times are coordinated in advance so your group can enjoy the meal together.

Why Scheduled Meal Times Matter

Group meals work differently from regular restaurant dining.

Our kitchen prepares each buffet around the established meal time so food can be served hot and fresh. We may also have multiple groups scheduled throughout the day.

For those reasons, we ask groups to:

  • Arrive together

  • Arrive at the scheduled time

  • Let the group coordinator know in advance about significant schedule changes

Late arrivals can affect both the quality of the buffet and the timing of meals for other groups.

Smaller Groups

When the combined number of guests dining is fewer than approximately 20, meals may occasionally be served plated rather than buffet style.

Service style is determined by Forrest Hills Resort based on the number of guests and the dining schedule for that meal.

Group Dining Made Easy

One of the advantages of staying together at Forrest Hills Resort is having your lodging, meeting space, activities and group meals all in one location.

With breakfast, lunch and dinner available by advance arrangement, your group can spend less time coordinating where everyone will eat and more time enjoying the retreat.

Your group coordinator will help arrange:

  • Meal selections

  • Dining times

  • Group seating

  • Special scheduling needs

  • Available beverage options

Group meals must be arranged in advance.
